Enable PIN Login on windows


User request to use a PIN on their laptop instead of a password. The Laptop is currently joined to a domain and PIN login has been disabled.


    1. Press Windows Key + R combination, type put gpedit.msc in Run

  1. Hit Enter and the Local Group Policy Editor will appear.
    1. You will need to follow this path to enable the Pin Login.
      1. Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon -> Turn on pin sign-in

  2. ON the right side, you will be presented with three options. Currently, it is set to “Not Configured”. You will need to set it to enabled.

  3. Click Apply and then ok.
  4. Save your work and reboot your workstation for the changed to take effect.
  5. Once the reboot has been completed, go into settings and then sign-on options and setup your pin.
