Building your Atlassian APP server.

We’ll assume that your server is ready to have the software deployed on it.

yum y install wget epel-release

cd /tmp | wget https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/downloads/binary/atlassian-confluence-6.14.1-x64.bin

Afer the file has been downloaded, well need to make sure we can execute the file too.

chmod +x atlassian-confluence-6.14.1-x64.bin

ll

This next part is critical so do not skip it. You need to download mysql conector v5.1.47 – https://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/Connector-J/mysql-connector-java-5.1.47.tar.gz

cd /tmp | wget https://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/Connector-J/mysql-connector-java-5.1.47.tar.gz

Once you have that file downloaded, got ahead and unzip the files use the tar command to do it too.

 tar -xvf mysql-connector-java-5.1.47.tar.gz  | cd mysql-connector-java-5.1.47.tar.gz

Find the bin.jar file if you are using this connector with linux and copy it to the following direcory

/opt/atlassian/confluence/confluence/WEB-INF/lib

cp mysql-connector-java-5.1.47-bin.jar /opt/atlassian/confluence/confluence/WEB-INF/lib

Now we can go back to the /tmp folder and start installing confluence, or Jira, on the server.  You will get the following output:

Unpacking JRE ...
